Java Team Leader

We are looking for a Java Team Leader with experience in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. You will be part of a talented software team that works on mission-critical applications. This role includes a full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing. You will also need to manage and lead a team of employees, and communicate company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to the team.

Qualification: BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
  • Write well-designed, testable, efficient code execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
  • Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
  • Prepare and produce releases of software components
  • Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
  • Designing and implementing Java-based applications
  • Debugging and resolving technical problems that arise
  • Recommending changes to existing Java infrastructure
  • Supports team manager and performs management duties when manager is absent or out of office.
  • Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks.
  • Delegating tasks to team members.
  • Empowering team members with skills to improve their confidence, product knowledge, and communication skills.
  • Communicates with the team to meet the deadlines.
  • Develops strategies to promote team member adherence to company regulations and performance goals.

Required Skills:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
  • Proven hands-on Software Development experience
  • Proven working experience in Java and Java EE platforms development
  • Object-oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
  • Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management, etc)
  • Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
  • Experience in the Spring Framework
  • Experience as a Sun Certified Java Developer
  • Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC)
  • Experience with test-driven development
  • Experience with Team Leadership
  • Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Strong organizational skills to give the team directions

  • Experience as a Sun Certified Java Developer
