Turning Existing Content Into an AI Assistant Businesses Can Trust

We engineered an AI assistant that turns a company's own published content into accurate, source-backed answers, with every response users can verify.

Project Summary

Job Vista helps students and education consultants find the guidance they need, and much of that knowledge was already published across its website. WebOsmotic engineered an AI assistant that turns that existing content into accurate, source-backed answers.
We owned the AI layer end to end, running independently alongside the client’s existing website, which was not rebuilt for it. The assistant draws only on material the company has already published and shows users where each answer came from. We delivered it in three connected phases: the knowledge pipeline first, then authenticated conversation history, then source citation across every answer. The result reaches 95%+ accuracy on the client’s own content and went from start to production in one month.

  • Job Vista had already built a knowledge base across FAQs, resources, and guidance pages, but users had to navigate the website, search broadly, find the right page, and manually look through the content to get complete answers.
  • The existing FAQ bot was limited to scripted questions, so the new assistant needed to provide accurate, flexible responses grounded exclusively in the client’s knowledge.
  • Knowledge-grounded responses: a retrieval layer was required to ensure the AI assistant works only with relevant content from the client’s knowledge base rather than relying on open-ended model knowledge.
  • Traceable answers: users needed to verify the information they received, requiring source URLs to be preserved throughout ingestion, retrieval, and response generation.
  • Continuously growing knowledge base: scheduled ingestion was required to capture new pages and content without re-indexing the entire knowledge base.
  • Secure conversation persistence: chat history needed to remain available across sessions, with conversations stored server-side against authenticated users rather than in browser storage.
  • A scheduled knowledge pipeline. We built a pipeline that pulls the client’s pages and documents, cleans the content, and breaks it into meaningful passages, each keeping the page and URL it came from, so the knowledge base updates with no manual ingestion step.
  • Retrieval before generation. Each question goes through the retrieval layer first, so only the most relevant passages reach the model and the response stays grounded in the client’s content rather than open-ended knowledge.
  • Persistent, secure conversations. Chat history moved from the browser into the client’s database, with the server validating the user’s identity before it stores or returns conversation data.
  • Citation on every answer. The original source URL travels with the content through retrieval and generation, so users can open the source and verify each answer.
  • Meaning-preserving chunking. Content is divided on semantic boundaries rather than arbitrary lengths, so the model gets enough context to answer well.
  • Answers without the page hunt. Users ask a question and get an answer grounded in the company’s content, with the source page included, instead of searching through the site themselves.
  • Knowledge that keeps growing. New content is added on schedule, so publishing more guidance does not mean rebuilding the system, and 53 pages were indexed with zero full rebuilds when pages are added.
  • Answers users can trust and trace. Every response carries its source, so a user can verify it and the client can fix a wrong answer at its source.
  • Persistent, secure conversations. History stays available across sessions in the client’s own database behind an identity check, with a 15-day retention window.
  • AI without a rebuild. The assistant runs as its own independent service beside the existing website, so the client added a dependable AI capability without touching what already works.
